School Profile

Our school community is unique and special because our teachers leverage their knowledge of the ISTE Teacher Standards. We are an ITI Practitioner School 6.0. Our student population is 93% Latinx, 3% African American, and 4% other. Yet, our Latinx students and community is very diverse. They are represented by 3 Guatemalan indigenous languages and cultural ties to Central American countries. We work hard to help students understand how to communicate with their peers and others in a safe, culturally relevant, and non-judgmental manner. ELD and SEL instruction is at the heart of our daily instruction. Union has collaborated with the UCLA CGI programs, Joyful Disruption, Local District Central Initiatives, Amazon Future Engineer Bootup, Leading Young Minds, Young Storytellers, Film Project, Dicks Sporting Goods, etc...
